All admissions decisions will be sent by email only to RCBC student email accounts. Students who are seeking admission must attend a Nursing Information Session. For upcoming dates see the bottom of the page. Note: Completion of all required non-nursing courses is strongly recommended but not required. Applicants will be ranked according to total points earned based on the admission rubric. This rubric evaluates the academic performance of a student within the required program non-nursing courses. The total number of points, if all courses are completed without repeats with an A is Students with the highest points, without any failures and repeats of required courses, will be admitted first. Next, students with the highest points with one failed and repeated required course will be admitted, then finally students with the highest points and two failed and repeated courses.
The number of students admitted will be based on space availability, which may vary. While students applying must take this test, for this first admission cycle, the test will not in itself prevent admission to the program. This test will be utilized to assist in predicting first semester success in the nursing program. Applicants will be selected according to the total points earned based on the admission rubric. This rubric will evaluate the academic performance of a student for the required non-nursing courses required to apply for the Nursing program.
The above listed courses are required courses for the nursing program. Please speak to your advisor for clarification and to see if you are in need of any of these additional courses. The grades of the required non-nursing courses will be factored into the chart below and averaged for a total score based off of each attempt. Required courses that were taken more than 8 years ago or older in which the student received a grade less than C will not be counted or placed on the rubric. The student will, however, have to have repeated the course within the last 8 years and received a grade of C or better.
